My New Book, The Plus One Theory, is Coming Soon!
The Runners Journey
I’m thrilled to share that I’m working hard to finish my next book, The Plus One Theory, and will be sending it to my editor soon!
This book is a heartfelt and practical guide to turning life’s toughest challenges into stepping stones for growth, resilience, and success. It’s not about perfection; it’s about purpose, about showing up, doing your best, and then pushing just a little further… one more step, one more act of kindness, one more effort toward your goals.
Through deeply personal stories and real-world strategies, I’ll share how this mindset has transformed my life, from the pain of childhood neglect to the struggles of rebuilding after loss. The Plus One Theory invites readers to:
✅ Reframe setbacks as opportunities
✅ Build resilience through small, intentional actions
✅ Face adversity with courage and purpose
If you love a story with a motivational edge, this book will resonate with you! Think Brené Brown, Gay Hendricks, and James Clear, but with my own storytelling spin. This isn’t just another self-help book, it’s a roadmap for rewriting your narrative and creating lasting change in your life.
The key message?
Your past does not define you; it prepares you.
Stay tuned for updates! I can’t wait to share more as The Plus One Theory comes to life. In the meantime, check out my new video showing a runner’s journey in action, because the finish line? It’s just the beginning. Enjoy this video that captures the essence of The Plus One Theory while I read the following to you!
The Runner's Journey
The starting gun cracks, and the rhythmic pounding of shoes against the track fills the air. You’re off, legs pumping and arms swinging in perfect cadence, your breath steady as your mind locks onto the goal. One mile. Four laps. One chance to beat the clock.
The first lap feels strong, almost effortless. Your pace is steady, and the wind brushes past your face. The corners come easily, your body moving in harmony with the rhythm of the race. Confidence surges through you as you stride forward, lap one complete.
Lap two comes, and with it, the creeping burn in your calves and thighs. You push forward, fighting the pull of fatigue that whispers, "Slow down." But you don’t. You won’t. The goal ahead is worth every strained muscle, every ounce of breath.
By lap three, the whisper has become a shout. Your chest tightens as your lungs gasp for air. Every step feels heavier than the last, your feet dragging as though tied to weights. You glance at the clock, and the goal you set for yourself seems suddenly out of reach. Doubt creeps in, urging you to stop. "You’ve done enough," it says. "You can’t go on."
But you do.
As you round the corner to begin the final lap, the world narrows. The cheering fades to a distant hum. It’s just you and the track now, a battle between your body’s limits and your mind’s resolve. Your legs scream in protest, your breath comes in shallow bursts, and every fiber of your being begs you to stop.
And then it happens.
The final turn looms, and from somewhere deep within, a place you’ve rarely tapped before, comes a spark. It’s the memory of every time you’ve pushed through pain before, every small victory that’s brought you to this moment. The spark becomes a flame, fueling your legs to move faster, your arms to pump harder, your breath to steady.
You round the last corner, the finish line in sight. Somehow, your pace quickens, feet pounding harder against the track as adrenaline surges through your veins. The burn in your legs is still there, but now it’s a fire that propels you forward, willing each foot to hit the pavement faster and faster. You cross the line, collapsing into the embrace of triumph.
You did it. You beat the clock. You beat yourself.
This is The Plus One Theory in action, finding the strength to push one step further when everything in you says you can’t. It’s the difference between stopping at “good enough” and striving for greatness. It’s the belief that your best effort always has room for one more step, one more try, one more chance to make it matter.
