Bringing From the Piney Woods to Life
As I get closer to the launch of the revision of From the Piney Woods, I’m finding myself faced with so many decisions about how to get this story into the hands of those who need it most. My hope is that From the Piney Woods will resonate with anyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or made to feel less than. I want this story to be a light—a reminder that our past doesn’t define us, it prepares us. Yet, with each step forward, I’m constantly weighing my options, feeling the weight of each decision, and hoping that the message will find its way to those who will benefit from it.
So Many Paths to Consider…
With my book still in the final stages of production, there are so many choices on how to launch it in a way that truly connects with readers. We’re preselling both the hardcover and paperback versions to help generate interest, which has been exciting and challenging all at once. As an author, I want to make the book accessible and cover basic costs like printing and shipping, but it’s hard to settle on a price that’s fair for readers while still allowing me to recoup my publishing investment. My goal is simply to cover costs and fund the next book in the series, Branching Out, so that I can continue sharing this important story.
Why I Wrote From the Piney Woods
In moments of doubt, I remind myself why I wrote this book in the first place: to shine a light on those who feel unseen, unheard, or unimportant. I’ve poured my heart into this story so that readers who feel defined by their past mistakes or life circumstances can feel encouraged and validated. I also hope it inspires others to look beyond circumstances, to truly see and acknowledge people who might be struggling.
I envision From the Piney Woods helping readers find strength in their stories, to believe that every experience—even the painful ones—can be a stepping stone to something greater.
Tentative Plans for a Launch Event
With all of this in mind, I’m tentatively planning a launch event to celebrate this journey and connect with readers. I want this event to be a meaningful way to share the book’s message directly with those who support this vision. While it’s still in the planning stages, I’m excited to make this gathering a memorable introduction to From the Piney Woods.
Exploring Public Speaking Opportunities
In addition to the book, I’m also considering stepping into public speaking to help spread this message even further. I believe that sharing the story and purpose of From the Piney Woods in person could create a powerful connection, helping people find hope and resilience in their own lives. If you know of any groups or organizations that would be interested in hearing me speak on the message of this book, please reach out—I would love the opportunity to share this journey!
A Heartfelt Thanks to Preorder Supporters
For those of you who have already preordered a copy, thank you! Each order brings me closer to sharing this book with the world, and I’m genuinely looking forward to adding a personal message to each one. Signing these books is an honor, and I’m thrilled to be connecting with readers in this way.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Every decision I make is with the intention of getting From the Piney Woods into the hands of those who need it most. With your support, I hope to make a lasting impact, inspiring both readers who feel unseen and those who have the power to see them.
With gratitude,
PJ Hamilton
